About

Dr. Gillian Riley has worked in a variety of locations across rural NSW including Tamworth, Port Stevens, Moruya and Queanbeyean.

She fellowed as a FRACGP in 2012, and obtained an advanced diploma of RANZCOG in 2013.

She worked as a GP obstetrician at Queanbeyan hospital for several years before deciding losing sleep over her own children was quite enough.

She has a particular interest in women’s health, children’s health (particularly the first five years), breastfeeding medicine, sexual health and pregnancy care. She is trained to insert all contraceptive devices including copper IUD, mirena, kyleena and implanon.  She is also able to provide non directive pregnancy counselling and termination services if required. She also enjoys working with neurodivergent people and is able to provide ADHD care,( although under legislation a diagnosis would still be required, please contact to discuss further)

Dr Riley strongly believes that medical care is not dependent on body size and practices within a Health at Every Size and a trauma informed framework.  She is inclusive of all people as individuals and maintains the best part of General Practice is getting to know people’s stories and walking with them through life’s twists and turns.
